    Windows in S mode blocking game from Windows store


    Windows in S mode says that it will only run apps from the Microsoft store. I downloaded Crusader Kings 3 from the store, but when I try to run it I get the message that I can only run apps from the store. If I downloaded it from the store, why did it not give me a message that it couldn't be run in S mode? Endless Space 2 has that message. Is there a way to run this game without exiting S mode?

    This should be enough to get the conspiracy theorists suggesting that Microsoft is intentionally crippling multi-monitor support in fullscreen mode since games sold on the Microsoft Store all work in the pseudo-fullscreen mode...

    Or it could just be an idiotic bug that will be fixed in time.

    Steam games in windowed mode?

    right click the game and go to properties, then click "set launch options"

    then you can enter the arguments for windowed mode, usually -w or something like that. you can find these probably by right clicking on the game in the list and go to "view forum"

    probably not alt-tab since that's for switching programs
