Windows 10: Windows Indexing Stalling

I have a problem with my windows indexing stalling on "13419 items indexing".I have completed the following tasks.1. Rebuilt Index File several times.2. Uninstalled windows update KB50045673. Run the search and indexing troubleshooter several times with no errors found.I use indexing to search my Outlook 365 emails all the time and this is now a major issue for me.Any assistance would be appreciated.Thanks.

Thanks Greg . That's a very comprehensive set of steps you have sent. I've pursued all of them that I can . I can't try things like system restore or bios updates as the computer is managed by a corporate policy. I would be concerned about breaking something
critical to the corporate such as Bitlocker or Endpoint security.

Despite doing things like stopping every service which is not MS (and is not protected e.g Symantec), I still see the Event 10023 every 8 minutes

Interestingly a reboot seems to result in a spurt of indexing of a few more files, then it stalls again or runs very slowly.

If there is a way to diagnose the root cause of the Event 10023, rather than just try to clean up the system which seems more of a sledge hammer approach. Surely some log or other deeper error recording can point to at least what file the gatherer was trying
to index when the 10023 was issued, or / and a lower level program or service error

If the 10023 root cause can be established and corrected, then I except to either see windows search indexing operate at a proper speed, or I will at least know that Event 10023 is not the reason for the slow indexing

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

• Press Windows key + R.
• Type Services.msc In the search box.
• Select Windows Search
• Restart the services and set the service as Automatic

If the issue persist try performing Rebuilding Index again.

To rebuild the index follow the steps below:

• Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
• Open Indexing Options in the Control Panel.
  
• Select the Advanced button in the Indexing Options window.
• Select Rebuild in the Troubleshooting section of the Advanced Options window.
• Select OK when it asks if you’re sure you want to re-build the search index.

Indexing is not working

This issue may occur due to corrupt Windows search files or settings. I suggest you to follow the below method and check if it helps.

Method 1: I would suggest you to run search and indexing troubleshooter
and check. Please follow these steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar.
  
• 
  Click troubleshooting in the search results.
  
• 
  Click "View all" and then click "Search and Indexing".
  
• 
  Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.
  

Method 2: Check if Indexing and Windows Search services are enabled. If not, enable them, if they are already enabled, then disable Windows Search Service and then enable again and restart.

  Press Windows key + R.
  
• 
  Type services in the run box, go to the Windows search services and restart them.
