Windows 10: Windows Insider Program Settings don't Update after restart

Hello,

I am trying to join the windows insider program. I have registered with my microsoft account and followed the instructions specifying how to activate windows insider on my pc. Everything seems to go fine and I get prompted to restart. However after restarting nothing seems to have changed, the 'Get Started" button is still there and asks me to go through the same process again.


Is there anyone who knows what might be the cause of this problem?

Windows insider program update issue

I keep getting a failed update "nice new yuppie friendly Blue screen" with my attempt to update to Windows new 14951 build...anyone else?

I am NOT referring to the intermittent download/internet issues that are pasted all over google when you search this update either..mine downloads, restarts, then fails somewhere in the process when it is loading the newly installed system update

im curious if anyone else is having issues

win 10 pro 14.936.1000 1607

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Hello,

Follow these steps:

1. Right click Start Button or press Windows + X keys and select Settings.

2. In the Settings app, navigate to Update and security > Windows Insider Program.

3. Click on Stop Insider Preview builds button. Then select the Stop Insider builds completely link.

4. Moving on, click Confirm in the confirmation prompt.

5. Finally, click on Restart now button and you’ll be now out of Windows Insider Program on your Windows 10 device.
