Windows 10: Windows install error - Error code 0x80070017

Ok this is frustrating as I know this works as I currently have a copy of Win 7 running off a USB using VirtualBox. Still works and don't have any issues. Plug and play all day long, no space taken up on my mac, just what ever Gigs I have on USB. Its perfect setup and use Win 7 minimally. Good to play about with software not available on Mac.


I have a new USB flash drive 64gb, Im using a Mac with latest OSX hence why I use VirtualBox and want to run Win 10 off the USB so I don't take up hard disc space and just use windows when needed basis.


This is supposed to be really simple, I create a new VDI with VirtualBox, set the machine destination to be created on the USB formatted Mac OS Extended, this is how I have my other USB formatted and no issues, set the RAM to 4gb and disk space to 60gb Dynamic.



In virtual box I remove the floppy why is this a default lol, and load the Win 10 ISO download from Microsoft onto the virtual optical disc. I then click start, and it boots up, Win ISO is recognised and starts the install procedure.


After a while it then comes up with this error:


"Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code 0x80070017."


Please help as to why this keeps happening, I've tried several times and get this error every single time.

Having someone say it's not possible is not an option as I have a working copy, so I need to fix this issue and get it to work. Thanks.

BIOS error codes

So I have motherboard with installed small LED screen, which presents BIOS error codes.

Where can I find a list of those errors. And I don't mean beep codes, but the "number" codes.

Ex after installing sound card, the motherboard startup fails with the code 15.

error code ?

When did the error code appear? During POST? Was it a Windows bluescreen error?
