    Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.17763.404 - issue


    I'm having Windows 10 with "Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.17763.404" but I'm facing issue when installing any software stating "Windows Installer can't be accessed". I tried register/unregister etc. for both 32 bit & 64 bit but no luck.


    downloaded troubleshooter provided by Microsoft but no issue found.

    Installer service starts normally when started manually.


    Need urgent help as I'm not able to work further for my client.

    I am an Independent Advisor and I would be happy to help you today.

    I recommend using System File Checker (SFC) tool to repair missing or corrupted system files which it seems your case. Make sure your PC is online before proceeding.

    Select Start > type the word CMD > right click on the command prompt > select Run as administrator

    Enter the following commands one by one followed by the Enter key:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

    Do not close the Command Prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. The scan results will be shown after the process is finished.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
