  1. Windows is weird

Already marked as solved because there is nothing to fix but I got this error in the Windows event viewer:
    Level Error
Date and Time 11/23/15 4:59:04 PM
    Source Service Control Manager
    Event ID 7024
    Task Category None
Message "The Xbox Live Auth Manager service terminated with the following service-specific error:
    The operation completed successfully."

This is the only service that does this and of the several months I have used 10 I have never found this since upgrading.

    :)

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. I will definitely help you with this.

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

    • Are you using a Local account or Microsoft account?
    • Are you getting any of the error messages related to this issue?
If you are in Local account, I suggest you to login with Microsoft account and check if you are able to sign in to the Apps.

If doesn't work, I would suggest you to run the
Microsoft Account Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

The issue you are facing with Cortana, I suggest you to try the below steps and check:

    • Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press
      CTRL+Shift+ESC.

    • Click File > Run New Task.

    • Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”.

    • Type CMD.

    • Type the following 4 commands at the CMD prompt:

      dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

      sfc /scannow

      powershell

      Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    • Close the CMD window.
Also, I suggest you to refer the following response created by Ravinath P on “Critical Error – Start menu and Cortana aren’t working. We’ll try to fix it the next time you sign in.”

“Critical Error – Start menu and Cortana aren’t working. We’ll try to fix it the next time you sign in.”

If you still face Xbox issues you can post your in the below forum.
