windows key + ctrl+shift+b is looping and now 2 of my monitors won't work (originally 1)

So I have 3 monitors and originally 2 of them were working and one wasn't - so I looked around for advice and windows heleper suggested using windows key + ctrl+shift+b so I did, at first I thought wow that was fast since the 3rd monitor appeared - screens were all screens flashing on and off as it said it would for a few seconds however this continued for around 10 minutes and by this point I knew something was up - since then i've restarted my pc and also entered safemode - after coming out of safe mode I came back to normal and now it is STILL doing this same issue - it seems to keep refreshing the graphics card but monitors 1+2 which were originally working arn't responding at all and the 3rd monitor works for around 6-7 seconds then goes off for 1 second CONSTANTLY.

    any ideas??

    :)

  2. shift and ctrl keys not working - windows 10

We can see here that you are having issues using the Shift and Ctrl keys on your keyboard. To isolate this concern, have you performed the following:

    • Right-click on Start menu.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Choose Ease of Access.
    • Click on Change how your keyboard works.
    • Tick the box beside Turn on Sticky Keys.
    • Click on Apply.
    • Select OK.

If so, we suggest that you revert the computer back to its previous version. You can free up some space in your disk drive by backing up some files to an external hard drive.

    Both CTRL keys not working

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    • Do you get any error message?
    • Did you make any changes in your computer prior to this issue?

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

Method 1: To check if Ctrl keys work in Onscreen keyboard.

    • Press Windows Key + R and type osk and hit Enter.
Try using Ctrl keys and check if that helps.

if you still face the issue, try Method 2.

Method 2: Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with the Bluetooth adapter. Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select
      Control panel.

    • Change the view by option on the top right to
      Large icons.

    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the
view all option on the left panel.

    • Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

    • Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.
Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thanks

shift and ctrl keys not working - windows 10

Neither of my two shift keys nor my ctrl key work on my Acer laptop. I checked that I have the latest keyboard driver. I tried pressing both shift keys simultaneously but this did not fix the problem. The keyboard has only one ctrl key. I tried the alternative
keyboard but no luck there either. The touch keyboard does work.

    I tried

    • control panel > Accessibility Options.
    • under keyboard there is sticky keys.
    • Remove the tick and click apply and OK.
but could not find the Accessibility Options in my Control Panel. Also I do not think I have sticky keys turned on.

This appeared to happen after a Windows 10 update. Cannot revert to previous as this laptop has too little disk space.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
