Windows 10: Windows Key for a device listed in my Microsoft Account

Discus and support Windows Key for a device listed in my Microsoft Account in Windows 10 Updates and Activation to solve the problem; I've recently wiped my drive and installed over Linux for a school project.     Windows Key for a device listed in my Microsoft Account


    I've recently wiped my drive and installed over Linux for a school project. Now I want to go back to windows, but I don't have my license anymore. Yet, the device still apears (with all the drives listed) in my Devices list on my Microsoft Account. Is there a chance to find the key or is linked to my Microsoft Account?

    Hi Taleys,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that your laptop is not appearing among the list of trusted devices.

    Thank you for mentioning the steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

    I would suggest you to try the steps below to make sure the laptop has been verified.

    1. Sign in to the main computer with your Microsoft Account.

    2. Press Windows key + I to open settings

    3. Click on "accounts" and select "your account" on the left pane.

    4. Check if the option to verify your identity is available.

    5. If so, click "verify" and follow the on-screen instructions.

    6. Once that is done, begin the setup steps given in the article
    and check again.

    Laptop not listed in Devices in Microsoft Account

    Hi. When I log into my Microsoft account and check under Devices, I only see 3 out of 4 devices that I use with the account. Listed are two nokia windows phones running win 8.1 and 1 hp stream 11 laptop running windows 10.

    My main hp-15 laptop running windows 10 is not listed.

    I've tried the steps here:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/what-is-trusted-device

    to make it a trusted device but it doesn't make my hp-15 laptop listed.
