Windows 10: Windows language not completely changed

Discus and support Windows language not completely changed in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; Hi SwissExcel, I'm 99% sure that he means "making a restore point". Here is an excellent tutorial by Brink on how to make one:... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Support' started by SwissExcel, Dec 15, 2016.

I am rather over cautious than answer later on for posts about "you bloody idiot, I followed your instructions and now my Windows does not work anymore!". Nothing will happen, the method is safe, but as an old school geek I will never do anything like this before making a system image or at least a restore point.

I cannot reproduce your issue. Running Sysprep from a normal admin account as told in instructions always works.

I've tested this today on two physical machines and two Hyper-V virtual machines, can't get it to fail. I have an idea, your issue is most probably not caused by it, nevertheless it's worth to check:

Open File Explorer > Drive C:. Type unattend.xml to Search box. Let Windows search for the C: drive, if anything found take a screenshot of search results and post here.

    No search results for unattend.xml.

When I run sysprep with Out of the Box Experience and I reboot this screen shows up:

http://image.prntscr.com/image/e9823...f4fb190357.jpg (For some reason uploading to tenforums is glitched for me)

Bottom left it says: "Ik ben SYSTEM niet" wich means "I'm not SYSTEM". You would think that if you press that, there would come an option to create an account right? Well the exact same thing happens as if I just pressed the regular "Volgende" / "Next".

Then I get prompted to activate Windows and after that the option to customize the privacy settings. After that it proceeds to bring me to the normal login screen. I don't even get the "Hello we are setting Windows up for you" black screen. Something is not right here....

That screen is usually only shown when Sysprep is run on an existing installation using built-in admin account.

Which language packs you have installed?

Windows 10 Pro x64 with anniversary update. Installed the English (United Kingdom) language pack. The Windows installation itself is Dutch.

Perhaps, do you know wich user groups (Member of) can run sysprep except for Administrator? I will try it that way and hopefully it will run normal then.

And also, what if I would run sysprep in safemode. Is that even possible ?

Running Sysprep from Safe Mode makes no difference, as far as I know, but of course you can try it.

I've tested and tested, I simply can't make this fail. I have no idea why it does not even show you the language selection after Sysprep.

Take a screenshot from Settings > Time & language > Region & language, post it here. I mean this page in Settings:

I'm out of ideas. I tried all sorts of things but sysprep is not working properly for me. I have one last clue: Maybe the dropbox background services are preventing sysprep from working normal. Or maybe something went wrong during the anniversary update?

I think that our best option is for me to just download an English Windows 10 ISO and not waste any more time on this very wierd problem where I cannot find any information about nor on the Internet or on TenForums. I think that something with my PC is wrong.

Same here. I've run countless tests, used this method in countless installations. I simply can't get it to fail.

This worked perfectly for me. Many thanks.
In my case, my Dell Inspiron came back from a comms board repair with Windows 10 reinstalled in Dutch (Why reinstall the OS?) To save send it back for another couple weeks, I agreed to the language pack solution, only to find many remnants in Dutch. The sysprep solution did take several hours to complete and appeared to hang at several points. However, I ignored those pauses and let it run its course. The result seems perfect.
