Windows 10: Windows Login Forgot Password

Hi. I need help in logging in to my local PC.

I installed an anti-virus and it prompted me to reboot in safe mode, so i did. But when I did, it asked me my password for login.


The thing is, I don't know the password. I've only used my pin every time for over a year now and it t didn't have any issues then. There's no other sign in options that would let me choose to sign in with pin.


I think I'm still in safe mode and i can't boot normally. I've restarted for over 50 times already using various things like with command prompt, but surprise! It still needs my password, which again i don't have.

I don't mind resetting my pc but it still asks for my password. *sigh.


I'm all out of options, and I need help.

You need to boot into Safe Mode. Do this by mashing F8 when the computer is starting, right before Windows loads, until you see a bunch of options. Select "Safe Mode". It'll boot into Safe Mode, and bring you to the login screen. At the login screen, go in as "Administrator", and from there go to the control panel. In the control panel, open "users", select the account you forgot the password of, and click "remove password". Restart the computer and all will be well *Smile .

Forgot Windows 10 password...

If it's a Microsoft account, you should be able to change the password via another computer at live.com and the password should also change to match on the computer (obviously make sure it has internet access first). The password is verified online during login.
