Windows Mail app display name bug

I have an exchange account and two gmail accounts in my Windows Mail app inboxes aren't linked. Whenever I try to send mail from either of my gmail accounts using the app, it is sent under the display name from my exchange account. This problem only occurs when using the mail app, and I have double checked my gmail accounts to make sure the display names are set correctly there. I even tried deleting my exchange account from the app, but the wrong display name is still being used. There is no option to set a display name manually Manage Accounts>Change mailbox sync settings is suggested elsewhere, but has no option for display name in my app.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

    :)

Windows Mail app display name bug

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Windows Mail app display name bug :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
