    windows mail says my account information is "Out of date."


    I just purchased a new windows 10 pc. I decided to try the included mail program. It works fine for my gmail and comcast accounts but not for my other web based pop3 accounts.


    I have tried deleting and re-entering the accounts to no avail. I know the accounts are fine, I have no problem whatsoever accessing them using ThunderBird. I have verified that the information I have entered into the program is correct.


    I noticed a thread about this exact subject dated 2015 that contained messages up to as recently as May 2019. Apparently your so-called fixes don't work.


    I only tried to use this program because windows suggested it when I was making Thunderbird my default mail reader. I suppose that freeware is more able to keep it's customers happy than Microsoft with all it's paid services.


    I am so disappointed. This is yet another reason I waited this long to upgrade to Win10. I was one of the people advocating for the platform way back when windows first started. I beta tested it on my 167 megabite two-floppy disk DOS based computer back in the 1980's.

    In order to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the following information:



    • When do you receive the notification?
    • In which application are you receiving the notification?


    If you are receiving the notification in Mail App, I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps in the article

    Your account settings are out-of-date in Mail or Calendar for Windows 10     and see if that helps in resolving the issue.

    yahoo emails say they are out of date

    Let me suggest you to remove then add your Yahoo account which is configured to the Windows Mail. Please follow the steps below to remove your account:

    • Open your Windows Mail
    • Click the Settings
    • Select Manage account then click your email
    • Click Delete account then select Delete

    After doing the steps above, add again your account and see if the issue still persist.
