Windows 10: Windows Media Player Major issues

Hey,

To anybody that can help with this issue, its been a problem for a multitude of months now and I have no idea what I am to do. Somehow, somewhere, sometime. Something uninstalled or removed access to Windows Media player. This has been a problem for a number of months, I am unable to play videos and audio files because of it. Even certain games wont work because of the lack of this player. Now I just feel stuck, with so much pushing me to fix it, I have tried over and over again to no end. Every guide I could find, everyone who talked about it, suggestions on the internet. Nothing has worked. I am gonna try and give a list of what I have tried, what doesn't work, etc. But I just hope someone out here can help me before I take the nuclear option of reinstalling windows as a whole. For the most information on my computer possible, I am running Windows 10 Pro N, 2004. If any specs are needed, or any information of what I have tried I am free to answer anything further into the thread. First of all, the only mention of Window's Media player on my computer is in the optional features tab located somewhere in the settings. I have tried uninstalling it there and reinstalling it, nothing has worked on that part. There's nothing in the "More Windows features" tab, nothing as far as I can tell anywhere else either. Right now it seems there is nothing left for me other than trying to reinstall it over and over again. That's the basics of what I have done but, from what the internet has told me there's not much more you can do. Right now for me its just finding if windows media features even are installed on the pc. I don't know where they would be if I did need them. A side note is, I have tried finding media players online, nothing other than windows media player has ever worked for me. And- if I wanna get my game working I believe I am relying on it being windows as well. I guess if there's anybody with suggestions, ask or suggest away down below. I will be checking up with this post often.

New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:

• Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
• Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
• Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)
