Windows 10: Windows Media Player Playlists

I have what likely may be an unprecedented issue while playing some WMP playlists.

I will preface this by saying that I have been using WMP, making and playing playlists for about 15 years now with little or few issues. I have never experienced the problem I have now.

My machine is an Acer Aspire E-14 laptop with Windows 10 version 2004 with 4 gigs of RAM. I have owned it for about 12 months now but my issues have only started about 3 months ago.

I have tried every suggested troubleshoot without results. Some of these are: 1. Resetting WMP library and settings. 2. Disabling then enabling WMP. 3. Restoring Windows to a previous time. 4. Resetting the laptop three times. Two times about two minths ago as well as a couple days ago after installing the latest update 2004. I downloaded this reset from the cloud which is a new option in Windows 10 version 2004. Nothing has worked.


I attempted to buy 4 more gigs of RAM but the one store that I know regulary stocks it here where I live in the Philippines but is out of stock. They said the RAM stick will be available in a week or so. I am not sure if adding RAM from 4-8 gigs will resolve the issue but I have wanted to add memeory anyway.


Now I will decribe what happens the best I can.

I have seven wmp playlists that I play regularly. Six are video playlits and one is a music playlist. I have no issues with the music playlist and three of the video ones.

But the other video playlists repeat this cycle. 1. The first video played of the list plays well for 5-20 minutes then stops responding. After 15-30 minutes after it stops responding, the playlist responds again and plays normally.

Also when I am working on a playlist sometimes it stops responding for a few seconds to a full minute.


If I have not included enough information please tell me and I will do the best I can to include it. This issue is very frustrating and if I had hair to pull out it would be gone. Any help you could provide would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

For now, you may also follow this steps on how to find which Playlist a particular song is placed:

• Click on one of your Playlists.
• Go to the Search box, and then type the title of the song.

If the song is on that particular Playlist, it would show up.

If the song is not on the Playlist, you would get a message: There are no items matching "Title of the song" in this view.

N900's Media Player playlist problems

a bit of a random question, but with my n97, i can just create playlists on windows media player, and sync the playlist to the device to only copy a playlist of songs, and then that playlist will show up in the playlists in the media player on my n97.



is it possible to do the same thing with the n900? or do i really have to follow the steps listed previously in this thread?

 

Saving playlists in windows media player

I am trying to add a playlist in windows media player. I have several from my time with windows 7. I add the songs to the playlist and try to save the new list. I would type in the name and I would get "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while creating
or saving the playlist." I have tried many things and I have looked at the suggested fixes but I have no idea what to do.

Any suggestions that can help?
