Windows 10: Windows not able to reset and install updates after 0x800703f1

Hi all,


It's been a while I've been struggling updating my Windows 10 machine. Windows Update constantly fails with the following error:.

I cannot install system updates or drivers e.g. AMD or Intel ones.


Let me go through the fixes I tried to take. I run countless times sfc /scannow and the DISM commands according to e.g.this guide and some similar posts on this community, but sadly they were not able to solve this issue -- sfc for instance reported no integrity violations. Then I tried resetting the Windows Update components via thewureset tool. That was followed by another run of SFC and DISM, yet to no avail.

I also tried running the WU troubleshooters, but they seem to be doing nothing i.e. once "solved" another run yield the very same issue.


It seems to me there's no chance to recover the system and thus I wanted to try a system reinstall. Using the built-in menu in the Settings, if I try to run the Reset option, it fails regardless whether I choose to keep files or delete them saying "There was a problem resetting your PC".


My question is: is there any way to fix my Windows? I guess reset is the only choice please, advice any other if there may be, maybe via the Media Creation tool. However, I would like to know whether it's better to run "in-place" or perhaps via a separate USB drive what's the difference? -- I fear WU may not be able to install the needed updates.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Drivers won't update, errors 0x800703f1 and 0x80070002

I have about 20 drivers that need updating. Windows version 18363. The updates download but fail to install. All report error 0x80070002 or 0x800703f1.

I've tried:

• Clearing the download files and restarting the update service.
• Running the troubleshooter
• sfc /scannow
• dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, which seemed to hang after the scan.
• perfmon /report, which shows that one service is crashing
• Using the Device Manager to install individual drivers
• Various other remedies proposed; I googled the error codes and followed up...

Suggestions?
