Windows 10: Windows Notification Sounds Obnoxiously Loud

After installing the latest feature update today, my notification sounds have been playing at the maximum volume, even though my volume level is set quite low. I would like to set the volume level back to normal, rather than getting rid of the sound altogether. However, as a last resort, I am willing to get rid of my windows notification sound. Please help, these sounds are extremely loud and a nuisance.

It is "Windows notifications".

To put it another way, it is Notifications From or through !#$TWing Windows 10.

1. The user did not ask for these sounds to be loud;

2. Microsoft has arbitrarily decided to make them loud.

3. Microsoft has provided NO clear way to mitigate the obnoxious, overdriving loudness of "notifications".

4. If these suddenly are no longer considered to be "System sounds", then provide a mixer category that permits clear and obvious control of these irritants.

April 2017 and still no change. My notification sounds are so loud that they are distorted.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
