Windows 10: Windows or hardware

Hello,


I first want to disclaim that I am well aware that it is impossible to correctly diagnose the issue just by the description off it.



I have a HP laptop running Windows 10. Lately it has started acting weird, the three symptoms that are most eye-catching are that the upper numbers on the keyboard sometimes display the signs without hitting shift, everything you click in the browser is opened in a separate window, and the biggest issue all icons coming previous to the one you click get selected and all of them also open.


I have run multiple Windows diagnostics as well as hardware diagnostics and malware detectors. They all come back clean with no issues found. I have also tried factory resetting windows and the issue still persists. I have also thought of trying a different operating system but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort because I don't know if the problem is caused by Windows or hardware.


If someone had a similar problem or knows how to fix this please help me out.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to run hardware troubleshooter and let us know if that helps.

Type "Troubleshooting" in the
Windows Search bar and press Enter.

1. Click on "View All" in the top left corner.
2. This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.

Also I would suggest to check if there are any update pending with regard to drivers and to do so, please follow steps mentioned below.

1. Search for Device Manager in
   Windows search bar.
2. Click on Device Manager.
3. Check if there Yellow Exclamation Point in the list of drivers.

Make sure Windows is up to date.
