I do NOT have a Windows Phone but Google seems to think I have. When/If I click on my Google account logo I am 'Welcomed' by name and told there are Security Issues. I click 'Secure Account' and am told that in 'Your Devices' there are three signed in devices, My Lenovo PC (Windows 10 1903), My wife's Lenovo Tablet and a 'Windows Phone'. I have never owned a Windows Phone. OK I thought, there might be someone out there who has discovered the wi-fi password key for my Plusnet router. Fortunately I have a spare so I connected that. Incidentally I connect my PC using ethernet via two power line adaptors, wi-fi is used for Tablet and two smart TVs. The tablet shows up as 'signed in', the TVs don't, I don't know why but they work 'smartly' so I'm not worrying about that. With the spare router installed another immediate check of 'Secure Account' the Windows Phone also shows itself as signed in. This strikes me as rather strange. I reverted to my original router.

I am asked if there is a device I don't recognise, this is clickable. This offers 'Let's seccure your account'. The only option now is to change my password. I did this which means I had to make changes to Gmail account etc. I tried 'Secure Account' again and there was no Windows Phone. Unfortunately it has returned, it seemed to return after I'd woken my PC up from hibernation.

I also noticed there was something about 'Less secure Apps' and it seems as if I allowed these it resulted in no green tick against 'We keep your account protected'. I was reluctant to change this as I thought I might lose my eM Client mail handler, however I did change to switch 'Less Secure Apps Off', and now I get a green tick aainst 'We keep your account protected' but when I click on 'Get Started' I see I've still got this Windows Phone signed in.

Does anyone know what this is all about? Should I be worried? As yet nothing has disappeared from my bank account neither have I received any unusual emails etc. I was wondering about my 'smart' gas and electricity meters which we are told do not use wi-fi. Unfortunately I can't switch them off to see if it makes any difference. Does the green tick against 'We keep your account protected' mean all is well?

    :)

I think I'll put a list of people's favourite apps in the OP, starting with my own until I get some suggestions, but you can take a look at the Windows Phone app store at the top apps to see what's popular http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store

You are both now added, welcome! *Toast :toast:

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.

When my phone fails to upgrade I just keep trying. One upgrade took 3 or 4 tries.
