    Hi.

    Since a coulpe of weeks i cannot add new folders to my Windows Photo app. All buttons to open dialog for choosing folders just do nothing. There is no error message displayed in the app itself.


    Steps that i tried before:

    1. sfc /scannow Did not help

    2. DISM /Online ... Restorehealth ... Did not help

    3. get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* remove-appxpackage Did not help


    So i've started to dig in the event viewer and found this, since nothing else helped:

    Unable to add folders to Microsoft Photo App

    I see a lot of threads about this subject but no clear answer

    When i go to Settings\Sources and when i try to add an other folder nothing happens

    When i click on import\From a folder nothing happens

    When i go to folders and click on add a folder nothing happens

    I tried to reset, restore the program, no success

    I tried remove with powershell en reinstall, no success

    I tried to run the troubleshooter on the windows store apps, no success

    This is the first time i tried to use the program by adding folders

    My system:

    Windows 10 Enterprise 1909 Dutch, all required updates installed

    i found out the following:

    when i click the add folder button an entry is added to the eventviewer

    SlideShow in Photos app does not display more that 30 photos

    Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to remove and re-add the photos folder from Photo app. Follow the steps below:


    • Open Photos App.

    • Click on Settings.

    • Under Sources click on the X mark next to the folder location listed to delete the location from Photos App.

    • Once done try to re-add the folder by clicking on Add a Folder.

    • Restart the computer and check if issue persists.
