Windows 10: Windows Photos - image opens then crops and half disappears, leaving only the left portion

Half of my images are cropping out and disappearing after a few seconds of initially opening. In the second image below, you can see what the result is - the right half of the image disappears. If I open the image in DropBox, the full image is there, but if I open it from my computer "Photos" - the image disappears. Can anyone please help remedy this? It's not consistent and only happens with a few folders of images.

When I try crop an image, half of the image disappears! Is this a bug everyone has been experiencing or is it just me?!

Ok, i also had troubles with that MS Photos program. After trying to crop a photo, there was not anymore options "Save", only "Save as" but when i did "save as", the copy of photo stayed in its original uncropped size as the original photo was - uncropped. Strange, because i use this app regulary and had never issue like this...
However, ive tried all the options people mentioned here and on other forums, as it seems this issue is some new standard by this program.
After half of hour trying everything possible i hit the solution for this problem.
The important thing by croping photos in MS Photos is, that you must now crop the photo also from its top to the botom, even if just for an half a milimeter - just do it.
For me it eventualy works fine now, because usually i mainly crop just the left and right part of every photo. Now i also crop my every single photo from the top to the bottom (just a tinny bit), and there the program give me the option to save it normally as always before - the picture is saved in the exact cropped size as i set it in program MS Photos.
Thanks god, because i dont want to use any other program for cropping but just MS Photos
