Windows 10: Windows Pictures Print in Graytones

I am using a Brother MFC-J5620DW inkjet printer connected to an HP computer that I have recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The upgrade seemed to go fine it works and I am getting used to the new "feel" of the operating system. Pictures I print using Windows Live Photo Gallery are in color, but the same pictures opened from File Explorer and printed with Windows 10 show in color preview on my screen, but are printed in gray tones. I have also discovered that the MFC printer does not show up in my computer's properties in the Device Manager menu under Printers. First, I went to the printer company Brother for help, and was advised of course to re-install the printer driver. I did this, but needed to use the printer's node name to install the new driver after uninstalling the old one because the installer program could not find any devices connected to my computer. This is the long background to my question - does Windows 10 have photo printing setting or sequence of settings that would cause color pictures to print in gray tones on a color printer? Or does anyone know some other reason for this problem?

Windows 10 printing issue while printing picture from Document files.

• When you say that "I cannot print a picture from my Documents file", are you trying to print a picture present in a word document file or trying to print a picture on Windows 10?

Pictures won't print

Hello,

To print a photo, you may use the Photos app. Follow these steps:

• Open the Photos app and then click on the picture.
• Click the 3 dots icon and then choose Print.

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
