  1. Windows quits accepting mouse clicks

There are similar questions on the community board but the most similar answer had a reply that said a hardware failure was the reason. Not sure how they could ascertain that as the issue. That answer gave no real resolution. We've had this issue now for a couple of months. It worked flawlessly previously. No hardware has changed. Everything works normally if you CTRL-ALT-DEL and then ESC. It will fail again over time and oftentimes fails after a Window sleep.Device name XPS-15 Processor IntelR CoreTM i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB 15.7 GB usable System type 64-

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

  3. Mouse quit working

    Hi Belinda,

Some possible reasons why a mouse would stop working could be an outdated driver, incompatibility of your device with your computer, or hardware issue. Kindly verify the following to help us isolate the cause of your concern.

    • Were there any recent changes made to your computer prior to the issue? (Windows update, software or hardware installation, etc.) While it's likely
you already have the most recent driver for your mouse after a Windows 10 update, if you're having trouble with a device, you can try fixing it by updating its driver or reinstalling it. Here's how:
    • Select the Start button
    • Type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
    • Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select
      Update Driver Software.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

    • Have you tried connecting a different mouse to your computer? Same issue?
    • What about when you connect that problem mouse to a different computer?
    • Have you done the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter? If not, we suggest you do by following the steps below:

    1. Click on Search bar.

    2. Type “Troubleshooting” without the quotes and click on

    Troubleshooting.

    3. Click on View All

on the left panel of the screen.

    4. Click on Hardware and Devices.

    5. Click on Next

and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

    • What is the make and model of your mouse?
    • Is the issue the same when you're using a different Internet browser?

We'll keep an eye out for your response.

    Windows quits accepting mouse clicks

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

i've seen this when the stock USB drivers went kaput. Only ever seen it once - i used a PCI USB 2.0 card and connected the mouse and keyboard to that, and manually updated the USB 2/USB 3 drivers.
