  1. windows recovery

I originally had a windows 7 system that i upgraded to windows 10, however, after turning it in for repairs, it now has an illegitimate copy of windows 8 or something. i tried returning it to windows 10 by giving my windows 7 key from the label on the back, but it doesn't recognize it as real one, i think.

I'm not really sure what to do as i don't want to spend 130 or whatever a new windows 10 key costs on an old computer. what could be the problem and how do i solve it in the quickest and cheapest way possible

    :)
