Windows 10: Windows Remote

I wanted to use windows remote, and pulled up microsoft support page, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028379/windows-10-how-to-use-remote-desktop, indicating that it was simply a matter of enabling windows remote desktop on the host machine, then logging in on the remote machine with an app. This did not work and I find that now I have port forwarding, I have to do, Dynamic IP address vs static IP and a whole bunch of complex issues I have no competence to deal with. I feel that the support page is very much lacking in detail for a user in the real world. Have I misunderstood, or is it really quite a bit more than the support page indicates?

Windows 10 - Remote Desktop

Hi,

We will surely assist you with the issue you are facing with Windows 10.
