    windows restart

every time i ask windows 10 to restart it freezes after it goes to the solid color with spinning icon in the middle of the screen.... the icon stops spinning and it shuts down and restarts..... this is causing me issues for program installs that need a restart... If I select the shut down option, it works fine... shuts down and then I can power it back up.... But for the programs that require the restart to complete the installation... after it freezes I end up and having to due a hard shut down.

I did try the remove the fast start up option as some had suggested from my online search... it did fix the problem.

    Any ideas would be great...

windows10 is up to date on the machine

    Thanks

    Rick

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond windows restart :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
