    Windows running slow since update back in April

    Hello,

    I have been experiencing performance issues with my laptop HP Model 14-dk0599sa with the following specs:

    Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.60 GHz;

    RAM: 4GB;

    System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor

    These issues began with an update in around April 2020 not sure on the exact update name and have had severe impacts on my usability. For example, when trying to play YouTube videos I get stuck on the loading screen not a bandwidth issue as I am getting 30 Mbps on speed check and also get a message saying "If playback doesn't begin shortly try restarting your device" which I have done multiple times but to no avail. I keep this laptop updated and the issues still persist.

    Could you please suggest a fix for this as all signs appear to be pointing towards Microsoft updates causing this issue.

    Thanks,

    LP

    :)

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    I would suggest you to run System maintenance troubleshooter.

    Try the followings steps:

    • Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.

    • Select "System maintenance"

    • Click next to run the troubleshooter.

    Hope this helps.

    Windows running slow since update back in April

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Windows running slow since update back in April :) Best regards.

    And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
