Windows 10: Windows Scan app not working

A few days ago i was scanning documents on my canon pixma MG2960 scanner, using the Windows scan app. It was working fine at first but a few documents in stopped scanning, since this instance the scanner still isn't working. I assume it's on the computer end and is an issue with the scan app as when i press scan it loads for a second and then the loading symbol disappears and nothing happens. It doesn't even have time to let the scanner try to scan. Can anyone help? I really need to use my scanner

Step 1: Run the Apps troubleshooter



Run the App troubleshooter to fix issues that may prevent app from working properly.

Step 2: Check for the update



Go to Windows Store and check any updates
available for the Scan App. If available, install the updates and see if the app work as expected.

Scan and Fax not working in Windows 10

This issue might occur if printer driver is corrupt.

To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• Are you getting any error message?
• When you say that "scan and fax not working", how exactly are you trying to scan and fax on Windows 10?

If you have tried to use Windows Scan and Fax app, then try to access it and check if you are able to scan documents.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. The type "Windows Fax and Scan" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Try to scan the copies of documents.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
