Windows 10: Windows "Search Automatically for Drivers" automatic update feature not working

Hi,


I have a new computer and I've noticed all the drivers are from 2006 when I look into their properties. When I use the ""Search Automatically for Drivers" option it always returns that the latest version is installed. I've updated my computer to the latest version of Windows so there shouldn't be an issue there. I have tried manually updating a few of the drivers Wifi, Bluetooth and they do update when I manually install them, so it seems to be an issue with the auto update feature. I'd rather not go through the process of manually updating all my drivers all the time, is there a way to fix the auto update feature?

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

Automatic Updates

They are installed automatically if that is the way you have Automatic Updates set.

I have AU set as download them, but let me choose when to install.

Is that what you meant when you said they are installed automatically?


As to your question Lillebror, I searched for a way to start the Automatic Updates, but really wasn't successful.
