Windows 10: windows search can't find d:drive

When i type in the windows search bar it doesn't seem like it finds files from all of my drives. My entire D:drive is missing. I have tried adding them in index settings but the drive wasn't there. To me this seems like a hardware problem but i just want to be sure.

• Type-in the following command:
  
  attrib -h -r -s /s /d D:\*.*
• Press Enter to execute the command.

You can follow the steps below to start with the process:

• Click on the File Explorer.
• Select This PC.
• Right-click on your D drive, then click on Format.

Upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10 now D drive missing

Hello,

Upon upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 my D drive is no longer listed under my PC. I tried a search and cannot find it nor can I do a system restore as that requires the D Drive. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

2nd Drive Files not Showing in Quick search

Hi all,

Background: I'm running Windows 10, anniversary update; with two physical drives, each also shown as a logical volume (C and D).

Issue: When searching from the Start menu, files on my C drive show up, however the ones on D do not.

Troubleshooting I have done so far:

• Verify that the 2nd Drive (D) has indexing enabled
• Verify that the folders on the drive also have indexing enabled
• Rebuild index
• The files DO appear when searching the 2nd drive via Windows Explorer, but NOT through the start search

Is this a known issue, and what steps can I take to resolve this?
