    Windows search shows deleted programs and files. Please help


    Whenever i search for stuff it always shows deleted programs and if i update a program and it has the same name it won't let me open it since it just shows the old deleted program.

    I've tried rebuilding the index following a tutorial from a windows vista post and it hasn't made a difference. It's been like this for months now.

    Where do ati drivers go by default??

    i shoulda stated, i went through the registries and deleted a bunch of strings as per Erockers thread showing step by step what to delet and from where. thanks mussles ill search the windows update files.

    App for deleting files while being used by another process...

    Most of the time, booting in safe mode, as administrator, will enable you to remove those files (maps).

    however, there are some programs out there to do just whatyou ask, I once found one after some searching on google. So either try my suggestion, or in fact search on google perhaps?

    "Force delete" will bring up enough info on this.
