Windows 10: Windows security 1809 home user

HI I was wondering if I could ask a question about Windows security that is installed with the latest version of Windows 10. Since I am a home user I was just curious to understand do I have to manually update the windows defender definitions every hour by going to windows update and push update in order to update windows defender frequently to the latest definitions?

Is their someway to make it happen Automatically as a home user?

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

Thanks for the suggests. A couple of comments or questions.
1)There is no group called Everyone on my security tab
2)is there a precedence order on the list of Users/groups on the Security tab. For example is it top to bottom or bottom up? Do individual users have precedence to groups
3) is there a defined hierarchy to the list of. For example is Users a subset of Authenticated Users,....

Vista Security ANOYANCE!

Go to user accounts and family saftey, then user accounts, then at the bottom of that list will to turn user account control on and off. Select and turn off. Then go to security center and select change the way windows notifys me on the side. Then you can change it so the balloon doesn't pop up.
