  1. windows security

on 08-08-2020 my anti-virus and windows security both stopped working, overall other programs were working properly but the windows security tray and my anti-virus were both gone from the tray, then I understood something gone wrong, I restarted my pc. the problem still persists now I tried to open my anti-virus from the application icon on the desktop, it was uninstalled from my pc but still showing in "add and remove program" it was still on my computer so I had to reinstall my antivirus. my anti-virus is working now and it showed me the virus attack but my windows security tray is not in-tray. if I try to open from startup it opens and shows "windows security at glance " no other options nothing else windows security d0fc5fd5-3b12-4f60-82dd-26ec7a920d11?upload=true.png windows security e7f9adf5-9180-4087-b423-d8e46c228a8c?upload=true.png replay ASAP please if this goes on i have to reinstall my windows 10

That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.

Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    • Linux

    • Oh and OSX
Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
