Windows 10: Windows Security

On Sat. 3/6/21 I updated my Windows OS to the Oct. 2020 version. Windows Version: Edition Windows 10 Home Version 20H2 Installed on 3/‎6/‎2021 OS build 19042.804. Since I booted up on Sunday, my Windows Security icon on the Task Bar has a yellow triangle with ! in the middle. When I click on this icon, there are seven icons regarding security. All of them should say “No action needed. “ One of them doesn't: Device Security. It says: “View status and manage hardware security features.” And when I click on Device Security, it shows that Security Processor is TPM and Secure Boot is On. But it shows that "Standard hardware security not supported." DEP is ON. BIOS Mode is UEFI. Core Isolation not listed. Memory integrity not listed. The following information is provided for what I might need to do to Improve hardware security: If the security capability of your device isn't what you'd like it to be, you might need to turn on certain hardware features such as secure boot, if supported or change the settings in your system's BIOS. Contact your hardware manufacturer to see what features are supported by your hardware and how to activate them.


At this point, I have no idea what to do. I know how to boot up in a mode that lets me see BIOS settings, but I have no idea of what to change. Do I have a security exposure so long as the Windows Security icon has that yellow triangle?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

That made me so facepalm. Some people have absolutely no clue. I hope they don't take you for granted with all this you're doing for them.

SonicWall is a good security product, so Mindweaver's suggestion sounds like a good one and should make for a rather bigger baby step. Let's hope they take it.

Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
