My father died a month and a half ago and he was the one who managed this system so I don't know how to fix this. Every once and a while the little TV indicator at the bottom right of the screen has a red screen with a white x and the current date displayed underneath:When this happens this is a recurring issue the guide refuses to load new information, usually my father would have this fixed and working again by the next day however his death was unexpected and he had not taught me how to fix it. My mother vaguely remembers my father complaining that it's a problem with the guide changing s

Windows Media Center Live TV Help

    Hi

go here - Hauppauge | Page Not Found select "Windows Media Center install" tab

look at - Setting up your TV tuner in Windows 7 Media Center - select download (will open a pdf with screen by screen instructions)
    "Download
Here is a screen by screen view of the setup of Windows Media Center. It was based on the WinTV-HVR-1600, but the setup with other WinTV-HVR products will be similar."

Follow the guide stage by stage

let the TPU community know at what "step" Media Center gets stuck at Example: step 1, step 2

nb: It may be to do with your zip code and or post code not being entered

In regard to your DVD Rom drive - go to -control panel/device manager/DVD/CD-ROM drives -make a note of the make and model number Example: Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-215D ATA Device - highlight the device you have installed -press right mouse button-select properties-details-property and select Install Date from the drop down list and let us know this.

  3. Windows Media Center Guide Not Updating

Windows 8.1 Media Center Guide stopped updating. Windows Media Center states: "Guide Listings were downloaded successfully." But, the Guide shows: "No data available" for all channels. Does anyone else have this problem. It started about two weeks

Windows Media Center - No Guide Listings UK

Updating Guide Listings appears to work but when you go into the Guide every channel is empty and no listings are present, which in turn means nothing will record and it will not accept manually set recordings.

Having searched many places for an answer and attempting the fixes suggested which have not worked it is obvious it's an issue with Windows Media Center on varying versions on Windows.

I do not believe the service has been withdrawn since as per the T&C's notice should be provided before this action.

(please only reply in relation to this issue on Windows Media Center and not Windows Media Player, they are not related.)

Please help this is very frustrating and soon will incur costs if the only option is to pay for an alternative method of recording.
