    (because this was brought back up I'll add some more info I noticed) ShellExperienceHost failure tends to happen a lot more on Windows PC's with low processing power. I noticed this when I got a Surface Pro 4 with 4GB of ram like my HP that had this happen
    a lot, but instead of the AMD E1 (1Ghz) processor, My surface has a (2.9Ghz) Intel i5 Processor. But even with the i5 I have had this issue on my Surface Pro 4 about three times. ( because I played with my start menu too much and it said (bleep) it) but not
    the 500+ times like my HP computer did if I played with the start menu or even tried opening action center to fast.

    But I mean 1607 was not the biggest problem for this. This problem started since the beginning of Windows 10.

    If only reports of this issue having been remedied were true! I'm running Windows 1709, OS Build 16299.248, but here I am, reporting this issue within a few weeks of a first-install on a brand new PC.

    I suspect the cause is related to serious issues with Runtime Broker which acts as a security guard for every program and app launched within Windows. When Runtime Broker goes AWOL, none of these get in — especially Windows Shell Experience Host which suspends
    as soon as Runtime Broker activates.

    This chain of events can happen any number of ways. Runtime Broker might reject your bonafide credentials, for example, or it may not register with DCOM within the proper timeout. There are hundreds of web posts regarding these issues but no definitive fix,
    and no posts listing Runtime Broker's proper Registry settings to use as a guide.

    Please, Microsoft. A fix?

    PS: Call me cynical, but I'm convinced all those Microsoft Support posts by MS agents who reply by simply advocating DSIM and System File Check are bots — and Microsoft's AI efforts have a long way to go.
