Windows 10: Windows Shift S Doesn't Work

Hey. I use Win Shift S to take screenshots of certain parts of my screen. The thing is, it stopped working. Now, whenever I use the shortcut, it just freezes after I make the selection and doesn't copy. I can exit out by clicking again, but it doesn't copy the screenshot to clipboard.

I know the cause of the problem, but don't know how to fix it. It started when I plugged in an external monitor, but I can't find any solutions online. Help?

Shift + i doesn't work, Win10

Hi MartinSöderstjerna,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft community forum.

Could you please help me with the below information:

1. Which application you are using while using ‘Shift+I’?
   
2. Are you aware of making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
   

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Using
On-Screen

1. Click on the Settings icon from the start menu.
   
2. Tap on Ease of access > select keyboard from the left pane.
   
3. Turn on ‘On-Screen’ keyboard.
   

Open notepad or WordPad and check if you can use ‘Shift+I’ using On-Screen keyboard.

Follow the same steps and Turn off the slider for ‘Sticky keys’
from settings.

Method 2: Keyboard filters.

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Click on Turn Windows feature on or off.
   
4. Search for Device Lockdown > uncheck Keyboard Filter.
   
5. Restart the computer and check if it works.

Method 3: Create a local account.

The reason might be due to user account corruption that would have occurred due to number of reasons. So I would suggest you to
Create a local user or administrator
account and check if the issue persists.

Intel Speed Shift Technology Skylake

You just need a Skylake CPU and ThrottleStop, once turned on speed shift you can exit the software as unclewebb said above.

 

OneNote Cripping tool doesn't work on Win10 - WIN + SHIFT + S

Greetings,

Before the Anniversary version Win + Shift + S used to work as long as i had OneNote on my taskbar. Now for some reason...it doesn't...I use this feature a LOT as an engineer every single day.

Any idea how to use the cripping OneNote tool by pressing Windows + Shift + S automatically (without having to click the taskbar icon every single time) on Windows 10 Anniversary version?
