Windows 10: Windows Start search box

I was investigating online how to disable the 'on-screen keyboard on startup'. I opened the first link i saw and was told by a community member to click the start button and search 'services' and then open the services applet. The only thing is that the search bar i normally used has completely disappeared. I don't know how this happened but any follow-up from and admin or elite user would be much appreciated.

  Right click on the task bar.
  
• 
  Go to Cortana.
  
• 
  Click on show search box.
  

Now check if you are able to find search box.

• Right-click on the taskbar.
• Select Cortana.
• Click Show search box.

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.
