    A computer is installing a 32bit version of a program on a 64 bit computer even though there is a 64bit version no matter how many times I install it.

    Windows 10 installs 32bit version in place of 64bit version on 64bit processor.

    Hi,

    After upgrading to windows 10 I noticed the upgrade had installed the 32bit version instead of the 64 bit version.

    I downloaded the 64bit media creation tool. I've tried the install several times with the same result.

    On this page there is a reference to older cpus not being
    able to install the 64 bit version. But my CPU is just a few years old (. My 8.1 windows is 64bit and installed/runs without issue.

    Anybody else experience this? Any solutions???

    As per the description, you are trying to migrate Windows 32bit version to 64bit version.

    I suggest you to refer the below link suggested by Andre Da Costa regarding the migration to 6bit Windows from 32bit.

    Windows store installing 32bit on a 64 bit even when there is a 64bit version.

    Windows 10 installs 32bit version in place of 64bit version on 64bit processor.

    I just noticed that issue on my end too - and I definitely used the 64 bit installer. Currently trying to figure out how to remedy this situation. *sigh*
