Windows 10: Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) Update 4.19.128 to Windows 10

A new Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) version 4.19.128 has been released via Windows Update to those that have enabled WSL in Windows 10.

Release notes are not available, but this was released on a Windows 10 Insider build 20197 in the Dev Channel.

Linux (Ubuntu) in Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Microsoft in bed with enemy)

If you have Windows 10 x64 with the Anniversary Update installed, it is now possible to run Linux within a Windows prompt.

Turn on "Developer Mode"
Restart PC
In "Turn Windows features on or off" Select "Windows Subsystem for Linux"
Restart PC
In a command promt type bash

Unable to enable Windows Subsystem for Linux

I understand that you have downloaded Linux Terminal from Microsoft Store and you are getting an error when running the PowerShell command. However, as per the article

Windows Subsystem for Linux Installation Guide for Windows 10 you need to run the PowerShell command first and then install the required Linux distribution from the store. I suggest you to try running the PowerShell command
first and check.
