    Windows Task bar Frozen Error


    I am HP Notebook laptop. I have installed all the updates in Windows 10 including optional updates. After the last two updates I am facing a problem with frozen task bar. This issue happens mostly when connected to internet. With the latest updates of windows, there is a News and Interest Panel with weather forecast. When loading this panel, the whole taskbar including start menu button stucks. Even I cannot disconnect wifi or open minimized applications. It takes more than 5 minutes to recover and sometimes I had to restart the laptop. Why is that ? Could you please hel

    my task bar is frozen.

    Since the windows 10 latest upgrade in 2017 my task bar is frozen. I have tried all of the suggestions from the 2015 posts. None of them worked.

    Thank you, Arnold.

    Just one problem, the first instruction to perform the clean boot is, "From Start, search for
    msconfig."

    I can't see how to get "Start" up because the task bar is frozen.

    Cannot modify Task Bar settings

    Hi,

    I understand your concern and will be happy to assist you.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

    • Right click on the Task Bar.
    • Uncheck the option " Lock the Taskbar."
