Windows 10: Windows Threat Protection Missing?

Hello i did a recent clean install of windows and immediatly after i installed ESET antivirus, ran the trial period then decided not to use it so i installed it.

However both the Windows Firewall and Threat Protection were disabled.

The service was even disabled, i managed to fix the firewall issue by using another topic here on the forum that said to enter

'reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mpssvc" /v start /t REG_DWORD /d 0x2 /f' in CMD

which worked, but my threat detection is still disabled or not running.


It says Threat service has stopped. Restart it now, but nothing happens.

I already enter the 'DisableAntiSpyware' in 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindows Defender'

but still not running.


Then i followed this step


Click "start" and type "Services". Select "Run as Administrator". On the "Services" screen,

scroll down to Security Center. It should be running and set for "Automatic Delayed

Start". It may be missing.

Scroll down to Windows Defender Antivirus Service. It should be running and set

for "Automatic" start.
Security Center is running but 'Windows Defender Antivirus Service' is missing, i only find 'Windows Defender Antivirus Network Inspection Service'.


What are the next steps i should take please.

Virus and threat protection not working

Hi there, I recently reinstalled my windows and the Virus and threat protection is down! I have found that I am missing the 'Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection Service ' and 'Windows Defender Security
Center Service' files from my services list, I have looked into this and can find no solution to fixing this issue, if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!!

Thank you so much for replying. I followed your steps but this hasn't solved the problem - still no virus and threat protection. The registry value was 3, and I changed it to 2 as you suggested. Should I change it back?

Any other suggestions?

Persistent Threat Message in Virus & Threat Protection in Windows 10

Hi,

I have recently uninstalled CCleaner from my PC.

Under Current Threats in Virus & Threat Protection, I keep getting the message that there's a threat from Appiriform_CCleaner.

I've tried the option to Remove this but even after a re-boot the message remains.

Can someone please suggest how to resolve this?
