Windows 10: windows ui not responding

ok so this started a few days ago, i havent installed any new programs or downloaded anything that i can think of, ive just been home watching netflix. If i have a program open, say firefox, i can click on and use it as normal, but i cant click on another window thats open, or open another program/window also the taskbar goes completely unresponsive, as in if i click on anything, nothing happens, also if i hover over an icon it doesn't highlight, and sometime the desktop does the same thing, sometimes not, the only way i found to get past this is to alt-ctrl-delete, open task manager and ill have between 5~30 seconds before it locks up again, and sometimes it will work for 5 minutes, its completely random.

its not my mouse either, as the courser moves on the screen fine, and i can click on the window i was last using, sometimes i cant move it tho, like when you click on the border to move it around, it doesn't work.... sometimes.


Things Ive tried: iobit and ccleaner they found some things but didnt fix the problem, also rand Power Shell admin with the following commands:


Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

sfc /scannow


i also updated my gpu drivers as well as iobit



other than this the pc runs fine, it isnt slow and runs the way it should.

I'm at a complete loss.

16GB ram 2666mhz

GTX980

I use outlook and drop box and can't attach or upload a simple word file.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
