Windows 10: Windows unresponsive on logging in

I recently had to install an older version of Autocad (2010) on windows for a friend, so I just installed it from some random link that looked secure (terrible mistake). After installing it, a restart was required so I restarted, but after the restart the laptop wouldn't boot up properly and I had to hold the power button and wait. Luckily it rebooted and everything seemed to be working fine. But then a while later the internet stopped working, no connections were available. So after another restart the desktop would load but the icons and the windows key became unresponsive (and yes the internet was still not working). I tried all the keyboard shortcuts to try and get into task manager or control panel but none of them would work. I also booted into safe mode but the same problem of unresponsive icons and windows key persisted there also. There is some important data on the laptop so clean resetting is not an option, can I get some help on how to fix this or atleast retrieve the data?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

One possible reason why your keyboard is slow and unresponsive after an update may be due to driver incompatibility. As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to resolve this issue. Kindly follow the steps

• Type Troubleshooting in Cortana's search field and press

Windows 10 unresponsive

All well and good, I would try these fixes except- I cannot log onto the computer because the keyboard and mouse do nothing- the windows 10 log in page appears and the mouse cursor moves BUT clicking does nothing> If I can't type in my log in I can't effect
any changes!
