Windows 10: Windows update 1903/1909 failure

I have tried and Microsoft have tried but Windows version 1909 and update 1903 won't load in my computer. It always stops at 89% and then reverts to the previous version 1803. However last time I tired it wouldn't boot up at all so now I can't use my computer. In safe mode I can't connect to the internet and so can;t do a clean install so what can I do?

As of now, 1909 is more stable than 1903

1909 is a very minor update- not as big as a feature update. So in my opinion, it shouldn't be an issue to update.

The last 2 Windows 1903 updates have been very problematic with a wide range of issues, ranging from Print spooler broken to update failures. 1909 has no such problems.

Also note that you won't be offered to rollback to 1903 as this is a cumulative update not a feature update.

 

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

No you do not need to update to 1809 - 1903 if you are currently on version 1803, then version 1909 will appear in the list of updates and will automatically be installed on your PC since 1803 has run out of support

You do not need to do anything, 1909 is currently spreading around the world, just give it time to appear in the list of pending updates . . .
