    Windows update destroyed my laptop.

So last night I got a message that I needed to update. I clicked to update and the whole screen went black. Nothing works. If I turn it on there are 8 beeps.
I'm afraid that as far as I'm concerned, if company's product breaks something, I expect them to fix or replace. This wasn't an ancient laptop, nor was it a cheap one. If I have to replace it, it'll cost me at least £500 and I haven't got that sort of money.
So Microsoft, what exactly are you going to do about it? Or are you so big and powerful that you can destroy people's property knwing that nobody can legally touch you? No wonder people are looking for alternatives to windows.
Luckily I have a spare laptop and I am turning off updates for this one. Microsoft sucks big time.

    :)

Windows 10 Installation completely destroyed my laptop

    Hi there,

Maybe you didn't read? I had followed DELLs steps and the installation was successful.

Windows 10 destroyed my laptop randomly the next day, for no reason. It was working fine for a while. No driver issues or anything like that.

The most frustrating this is that the only solution now is to find Windows 8, install, run all available updates and then install Windows 10. Something which will take many many hours and after it is done might, again, destroy my laptop again for no reason.

    Cumulative Update KB4338819 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.165 - July 10

This update totally destroyed me, which was not totally unexpected.

I have noticed that update issues are fairly common occurrences.

Microsoft must have a site that lists step by step actions that they want you to take when Windows 10 Updates and trashes a system?

Does such a site exist? Where do I go to get help?

Recovering Windows 10 After an Update

    Step 1:
    sfc /scannow

    Step 2:
    Dism

    Step 3:
etc.. Uninstall Video Drivers and reinstall

    Windows update destroyed my laptop.

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Windows update destroyed my laptop. :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
