    Windows Update error 0x8007025d alternating with 0x80070057


    My windows 10 Home will not update. Keeps failing with the errors 0x8007025d and 0x80070057 alternating. I have tried DISM and it also brings up an error code of 605 and states "...bad sectors..". SFC stops at 24% and states "...could not perform...". Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool reports no errors found. Two 3rd party software programs report 2 areas of corruption on the hard disk. I am going to migrate my OS to a new SSD but I'm afraid this will not fix the problem just transfer it. This problem has occurred in the past without the HD failure and a MS Tech fixed it in about 10 mins by copying hidden files to my system using either the boot command prompt or command prompt . Unfortunately I don't remember the commands or the file location didn't seem to be part of my normal HD. My recent attempts at having a MS Tech help me have revealed a surprising lack of competence and work ethic. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Should I just buy Windows again and give up on a fix? Or should I be okay with my OS stuck on March 2020's update. The system is otherwise fully functional.
