Windows 10: Windows Update error 0x80070643 and other problems

Split from this thread. My system try to download a update fro windows error code: 0x80070643. Now all start menu items are not more working. No connection to all programs like Microsoft Outlook, etc. loose, the start screen picture etc

Try to apply the update manually As suggested by Microsoft. I just wrote a
step by step guide.

However be sure that the update itself is downloaded and that the installation part is failing, and not the downloading part.
