Windows 10: Windows Update fail / Repair install fail / SFC + DISM fail

Hey there - really grateful for this forum's answers over the years but only now becoming a member to submit a puzzle of my own. Thanks for being here! This is a few-day-old new HP Envy x360 with 21H1 19043.1052 which I was getting set up, when it stopped being able to get updates and had the failures in the thread title: - Windows Update is failing on KB5003537 (and anything else that comes into the catalog list between being cleared). Tried all known fixes like: Troubleshooter (resets to no updates showing, then fails again)Install update from catalog (fail)Servicing stack update (none of the files in catalog say they're appropriate for my machine)Stop services/delete distribution/catroot2/reregister files on registry/start services - SFC scannow is failing with "found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" - tons of Unable to load manifest for component / Attempting to mark store corrupt - DISM RestoreHealth is failing at 84.9% with The source files could not be found. It's NOT installed already so it's not causing the issue. By this point I guess I should have just done a dang clean install and lost the 300+GB of apps I had installed on the machine already, but was hoping for some easier shim relief. Should I give up?

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Sfc /scannow and DISM /Online fails

My Lenovo T400 with Windows 10 version 1511 works just fine. But I do find that these 2 commands fail me. Logs are attached. I do want to preserve some applications that I have installed so suggestions on how I can repair or upgrade would be appreciated. It's my understanding dism must be functional to upgrade the OS.

1) sfc /scannow
2) dism /online /?

Thanks for your detailed response. These steps are to address the update issue. As you said, I can live with that since the OS is working.

My main concern is that SFC failed revealing that some files are corrupt. In particular the fhengine.dll. I dont want compromised system as my son uses to play online games. Mcafee seems to be forgiving a lot and finds nothing even if system has something
as happened a few weeks ago and I reinstalled win 10.

Do you or anybody see an issue with SFC and DISM as above ? I would at least like to fix the SFC issue.
