Windows 10: Windows update failed, and it seems my system or monitor crashed? Black screen!

My monitor screen suddenly went black, then went to power save mode. I checked all the connections, nothing seemed loose.Power was still on at the PC. I rebooted and checked various logs, and found some errors, including a Windows update failure at 3am today: DescriptionInstallation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073D02: 9WZDNCRFJ3P2-MICROSOFT.ZUNEVIDEO.

Black screen crashes

Hi guys,

I've encountered a recent problem with my system.

when playing a game the computer will randomly black screen and crash no signal to the monitor, nothing.

I'm not sure yet if this happens in but games and i will try a little later.

I reloaded a 4 month old image to my system, and since then i have only updated windows and that game.

I'm thinking if it happens in more games than this one it could be my psu dying or my video card.

I'm about to use occt to stress test my psu and video card to see if i can reproduce the issue.

Any ideas about what else it could be?

btw, i've been running everything at stock since the re-image.

update - well both the video stress test and the psu stress test crash my computer *Frown That would indicate a failing psu, right?
I tried the cpu stress test and it ran fine, but the other two were instant crashes.. maybe the 12v rail is dying?

• Were you able to get to the desktop screen after you restarted the system?
  
• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?

Black screen /Monitor

Windows 10 update for 11/14/ made my monitor screen darker than usual when it comes on and that is for about 30 seconds at a time then it goes black. I have to keep turning the monitor off and on; the computer stays on the entire time. I tried setting
the system back to an earlier time and other suggestions on your page but nothing works.
