Windows 10: windows update failure 0x800705b4

I am having issues with downloading the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803. I was forced to reset my laptop as the NVIDIA driver became incompatible with the latest update (the same update that now won't install) and caused multiple BSOD and then just blackscreens. I reset and updated the laptop with drivers from the manufacturer but have not been able to complete the updates and my NVIDIA drivers are still causing issues. I read various forum posts and took the advice to run the windows update troubleshooter but the trouble shooter will not work - it is giving an error code

0x80070057. In fact none of the troubleshooting works. I am running on windows 10 professional.
